What’s on in Calderdale: Get set for a thrilling show when this world-renowned circus comes to Halifax

There’s something for all the family in this incredible show

Circus Extreme is renowned globally and is coming to England as part of its World Tour. The show stops off in Halifax between June 23 and July 2 and promises something to delight and entertain the whole family.

This fast-paced two-hour show promises a blend of modern and contemporary styles of circus act with some extreme stunts, classic clown fun, and thrilling performances to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Bike stunts galore

If you love to see some serious two-wheeled stunts you are in for a treat.

First up the Danguir Troupe will be performing their double wheel of death stunt. This involves the World’s first double summersault, which has never been performed in the United Kingdom before this tour. This troupe have been stars of the famous Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey in the USA.

Next up the EXTREME® freestyle motocross team, just back from a European Tour, will be flying through the air with their jaw-dropping act. Watch as they appear to defy grafity itself, fighting for air space and perfecting mid-air backflips.

Five years in the making, this show is not to be missed

Stunt riders don’t get much better than the EXTREME® stunt riding team who will take on the Globe of Death. This death-defying act will put the performers under G-force similar to that of a fighter pilot. Watch as they loop vertically and horizontally all while encased in a mesh sphere.

Paulinho is a street bike rider and a legend in South America. His high-energy display of wheelies and burn outs will take his two-wheeled tricks to the limit. His act is teamed with a troupe of dancers and musicians who all perform their acts with a unique twist.

High wire acts are all part of the circus story and the Ayala Troupe have an award-winning, Guinness World Record holding act which has been performed at the World famous Monte Carlo Circus Festival, but will be repeated right here for audiences in Halifax.

Every seen a man walk upside down? Well Big Top legend Super Silva Junior, who hails from Brazil, will do just that in a mind blowing daredevil performance showcasing incredible agility, trapeze and balancing skills all performed in a unique style for this new production.

Thrilling acts and stunts from around the world

Another act taking to the skies is Aerial Duo Polischuk – this daredevil duo perform mid-air stunts holding each other by their teeth high up in the roof of the Big Top.

And if that doesn’t leave you open-mouthed maybe this will. British artiste Laura Miller will present her internationally-renowned aquatic aerial ring which unites the elements of fire, water and air. Witness the aerial hoop skills combining grace, beauty, visually stunning lights and music that will transport viewers into a sci-fi world.

And you can’t be at the circus without enjoying some fabulous clowns. Enter Henry Prince of Clowns, who will keep the audience laughing all the way through the show.
