Simon's welcome visit

Halifax Minster will welcome back one of its most popular organists when Dr Simon Lindley, of Leeds Parish Church and Leeds Town Hall, gives a concert on May Day Bank Holiday at 3pm.

The programme will include pieces by Max Reger, Herbert Austin Fricker, Haydn Wood as well as Charles Hubert Hastings Parry’s well-known composition ‘Jerusalem’.

Minster organist Graham Gribbin said: “The Minster is well-known for its beautiful organ music and we are thrilled to welcome back Dr Lindley who is always very popular with our audiences.”

Dr Lindley is also musical director of Overgate Hospice Choir and has served as chorus master to Halifax Choral Society and Leeds Philharmonic Society. He has given well over 600 recitals at Leeds Town Hall. The concert starts at 3pm. Tickets are £6. Tel: 01422 355436.
