Have you ever fancied making your own bread, tried your hand at bell ringing or even learning to play the theme tune to the Harry Potter films on the organ?

How about creating beautiful colourful pieces or art using fabric dyes and paints?

And what about taking a trip through history? Would you be brave enough to come face to face with a plague victim, a ‘vicar of death’ or a character connected with Halifax’s famous gibbet?

The Family Fun Week once again returns to Halifax Minster – this year from August 24 to 27 inclusive, with events running daily from 10am to 12.30pm.

“This will be the fifth consecutive year that the fun week has been staged at the Minster and once again we are expecting it to be popular with children and adults,” says organiser Nancy White, the Minster’s education officer.

The sessions begin on Monday, August 24 with ‘Colour of Life, a morning of activities around the theme of colour, inspired by the Minster’s beautiful stained glass windows and fabrics. This will be an opportunity to think about how colour works using fabric dyes, paint and other materials.

Full dates and times of all events will be printed in next week’s edition of WOW 24/7.
