Chester Butler’s break and inside pass enabled Gareth Blackburn to score the second on 20 minutes and scrum half Liam Coe added the goal.

Martin Gray’s drive and off-load enabled home hooker Danny Jones to pull back four points.

However, Siddal restored their 10 point lead just before the break when Miners coughed up possession in their own 22 and centre Gavin Stead picked up to score.

The home side scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half to draw level at 14-14.

A Miners kick was claimed by fullback Andrew Groves for stand off Shaun Dowie to score, Dowie converting.

Winger Bradley Hargreaves then finished off a break for the first of his three tries.

Billy Hammond, playing in the second row, crashed over to make it 18-14 to Siddal on 55 minutes but his opposite number Daniel Jackson levelled the score three minutes later.

It was anybody’s game up to the closing stages when Hargreaves raced through to score. Dowie converted and then helped set up the clincher for Hargreaves with one minute left.

Siddal, who are sixth in the Premier, are next in league action at home to Oulton Raiders on Saturday, June 13.
