Moore shines as Fax's juniors ease past South Wales

Former Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie back Nick Rawsthorne, who only signed for his hometown club last week, led the scoring with a hat trick from centre, with midfield partner Jordan Syme crossing twice.

Billy Gaylor, Aiden Hema and Elliot Morris also crossed, with hooker Brandon Moore continuing his impressive start to life with Fax after his move from Castleford with another bustling effort around the ruck.

Elsewhere in the Championship, pre-season favourites Leigh have responded to last week’s shock departure of their coach Paul Rowley by appointing his assistant, the former Leigh player Neil Jukes, to the top job.

Rowley, the former Halifax hooker, quit last week for unspecified ‘personal reasons’ less than a fortnight ahead of the start of the new season.
