Andrew Mann

Man of the Match

Scott Garner, nothing fancy but yet again didn’t put a foot wrong. In a defence that looks suspect at times he brings a sense of calm and always seems reliable.

Moan of the Match

Tom Denton continues to play in the same style and it doesn’t work, doesn’t win enough headers for his size and when he does nobody reads his flick ons anyway. Awful to watch over and over again.

Another one of Sinnotts long throw-ins leading to a goal. Alex Simmons continuing his impressive goal scoring run for the club in front of the travelling supporters.

Too much clatter, bang, wallop. It’s not pretty to watch. Both teams hardly managed to string five passes together.

Moment of the Match

58th minute, Gloucester dangerous free-kick at the edge of The Shaymen’s box looking for an equaliser. A bad pass from the free-kick gives Halifax possession and 30 seconds later the ref points to the spot. Halifax score to make it 2-0 - game over.

Alex Simmons; another goal, and a good all round performance. He is fast becoming our greatest threat up front.

Moan of the Match

Josh Macdonald. He had one of those matches where nothing seemed to go right. Poor passes, failing to cover back, never got past his man. His only redemption was winning the penalty. Let’s hope it was just a one-off!

Moment of the Match

The penalty, which was a clear foul. Everyone in the ground knew that Liam King’s goal had the three points sewn up. Gloucester never looked like scoring, mustering only two long distance shots in the entire match.
