FC Halifax Town: Dover preview

FC Halifax Town and Dover clash tomorrow (3pm) in a game that could have huge repercussions at both ends of the Conference table.

Dover are currently in the top-five on goal difference only ahead of Braintree, while The Shaymen sit just one point and one place above the relegation zone.

Town will have defender James Bolton available after he missed the 4-1 defeat at Barrow through suspension, but are also hopeful Matty Brown will have recovered from his ankle injury in time to play.

Shaquille McDonald is also expected to be fit, but Sam Walker could be out for the rest of the season with a medial ligament injury.

Only Wrexham and Grimsby have scored more home goals than Dover, who have only lost once in their last seven outings.

Top-scorer Ricky Miller has scored 18 league goals this season and was believed to be on Halifax’s radar when he played for Boston United during the 2013-14 season.

He was on the score-sheet when Town beat Dover 4-2 in Jim Harvey’s first home game in charge of Halifax, with two goals from Shaun Tuton and one each from Nicky Wroe and Jordan Burrow sealing the win.

Midfielder Nicky Deverdics and forward Stefan Payne have also bagged double figures for Dover this season, scoring 13 and 17 league goals respectively.

Town won the corresponding fixture last season thanks to Scott McManus’ goal on the opening day of the campaign.
