Paul Quinn’s side, who played in the FA Vase prior to last season’s promotion to the Evo Stik Northern Premier, were beaten 1-0 at home by Ossett Town.

The pair are 13th and 14th in Division One North and are yet to meet this season.

The key spell in the game came during five minutes in the middle of the second half.

Town won a penalty when James Hurtley was fouled but Ryan Hall’s effort hit a post.

Shortly after Dave Morris scored what proved to be the winner for Ossett with a free-kick.

Brighouse, who have now lost seven out of their last 10 games, host a Clitheroe side two places below them in the league next Saturday.
