Youngsters brave the downpour as they bid to impress pet show judge

WITH 21 entries on the day - and some only coming in at the last minute - the weather didn’t put off young competitors aiming for success in the children’s pet show at Todmorden Agricultursal Show.

Joint section secretary Karen Andrews thanked judge, vet Brian Heal, and said a good mix of pets had been entered and she was delighted with the turnout, bearing in mind the harsh and wet weather conditions on the day.

Eight-year-old Lena Rawcliffe won the Maureen Cryer Special Award for the five to 10-year-olds class with her guinea pig Cocoa.
