Youngsters brave the downpour as they bid to impress pet show judge
Joint section secretary Karen Andrews thanked judge, vet Brian Heal, and said a good mix of pets had been entered and she was delighted with the turnout, bearing in mind the harsh and wet weather conditions on the day.
Eight-year-old Lena Rawcliffe won the Maureen Cryer Special Award for the five to 10-year-olds class with her guinea pig Cocoa.

Hide AdThe Trevor Cryer Special Award for the 11 to 15-year-olds class went to Bethany Walker, 14, with her ferret, Peaches, and Peaches’ babies!
The S. and V. Greenwood Memorial Trophy for most unusual pet went to Gabriel Bath, eight, with his stick insects Orinoco and friends.
The Shona Fern Cup for best rabbit went to 11-year-old Jade Beard with Dusty and the Trevor Cryer Cup for best rodent went to Tamar Stott, eight, with hamster Hansom.
The Maureen Cryer Cup for best guinea pig went to Ben, seven, and Jade Beard with Treacle and Toffee.

Hide AdThe Bill and Elsie McCrate Cup - the section organisers’ decision - this year went to 11-year-old Maddie Howley with her cat Sydney.
Class winners were as follows.
Class five to 10-year-olds: 1, Megan Whitworth, nine, with her rabbit Fudge; 2, Eleanor Brearley, nine, with her rabbit Coco Chanel; 3, Lucca Minopoli, eight, with hamster Bianco.
Class 11 to 15-year-olds: 1, Kathryn Stott, 14, with guinea pig Despero; 2, Sarah Bennet, 13, with rabbit Holly; 3, Bel Rawcliffe, 12, with guinea pig Truffle.
