The work is due to be complete by Friday October 23.
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Strategy, Councillor Jane Scullion, said: “This is the second phase of our work to improve the surface of this rural road. The first stage was completed just before the COVID lockdown and covered the section of road from the junction of Rochdale Road up to Halshaw Clough.
“The work has been carried out in stages to minimise disruption. We’ve also made sure that local residents and businesses have been kept informed and we’ve scheduled the full closure during normal working hours to avoid the busier periods of the day. Additional closures are required on selected weekend dates, but we’ve kept these to an absolute minimum.
“The initial work has made a real difference to the quality of the road surface and once this second phase is complete we’ll see a smoother, much-improved route for vehicles travelling between Todmorden and Bacup.”
