Tots wave goodbye to Eileen

The founder of Barkisland Parent and Toddler group has retired from her position after 30 years at the helm.

Tots waved goodbye to Eileen Holmes last Wednesday before the group finished for summer.

The group originally ran in local mums’ houses, before relocating to Barkisland Cricket Club when numbers grew.

Eileen, 64, said: “I am sad to be leaving, I’ve seen a lot of children go through the group over the years.”

The group reopens after the summer holiday on September 3.
