Three Peaks is family challenge

A father and his two daughters completed the Three Peaks challenge this past weekend to raise money for the Huddersfield Town Foundation.

Stephen Booth, 59, of Brighouse, said he and his daughters Karina Booth, 19, and Louise Lennox, 26, took the challenge to pay tribute to his late wife Debbie who died after battling cancer in 2008 aged 49.

The family joined 73 other climbers to raise money for the charity and completed the challenge in 12 hours.

Stephen said: “It is the second year running we have taken part in the Three Peaks challenge, last year we raised money for Overgate Hospice who looked after Debbie when she was ill.

“Since last March I have trained by walking 1,500 miles with my dog Suzy, the target being 2,000 miles by the end of 2015.

“Altogether we have raised well over £1,000 for the two charities in the last year with these three events.”

The Huddersfield Town Foundation is a community project set up by Huddersfield Town Football Club to help deprived children - the money raised will support one of 17 breakfast clubs run by the charity.
