School celebrates Queen's 90th birthday
Children at a Halifax Primary School marked the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations with decorations, flags and activities.
Greetland Academy’s key stage one have held a tea party with sandwiches while year two pupils made cornflake cakes.
The children enjoyed making their own decorations and flags.
Miss Summers said: “Reception looked on the Internet to find out about street parties from the past.
“Daniel’s Grandma came in to show us a certificate that her mum had been given by the Queen. Mrs Thornton brought in her silver Jubilee coin from 1977.
“We all added a link to a Union Jack paper chain, learnt about the colours on the flag and the countries that they represent.
“We then went outside and joined the rest of the school on to the field with our flags and sang the national anthem. We really enjoyed our picnic!”
