Public inquiry to decide on Casa’s future
Castelite Ltd has lodged an appeal with the Secretary of State against an enforcement notice issued by Calderdale Council relating to the construction of a new building on land at The Casa Hotel and Restaurant, Elland Road, Brighouse.
Planning permission had previously been granted for a proposed extension for conference and function facilities, subject to conditions.

Castelite Ltd is appealing the notice on the grounds that the alleged breach of control has not occurred; that the steps required to comply with the requirements of the notice are excessive and lesser steps would overcome the objections; and that the time given to comply with the notice is too short.
The date and venue for the public inquiry have yet to be confirmed.
