Calderdale food charter launches and encourages people to work towards better food system

The Calderdale Food Charter’s vision is inked closely to Calderdale Council’s Vision 2024 and Climate Action Response and sets out some simple steps for everyone to take to play their part in ensuring a more sustainable future.

Hide AdCalderdale has long been an innovator around local food – whether this be the trailblazing approach of Incredible Edible, born in Todmorden, or the Council and Clinical Commissioning Group’s commitment to funding programmes, such as Food for Life, and it’s recognized internationally for its ‘Just Do It!’ attitude, when to comes to making things happen around food and growing.
This initiative has been launched by Calderdale Food Network, whose members include individuals, groups, businesses and organisations with an interest in creating an equitable food system, which reflects the priorities in the region.
The Network is a member of Sustainabale Food Places – a partnership programme led by the Soil Association, Food Matters and Sustain, which brings together pioneering food partnerships across the UK that are driving innovation and best practice in all aspects of healthy and sustainable food.
