On-day raffle raises £544
The Mayor of Todmorden, Coun Hussain, said that despite the sodden weather vsitors had dressed for the weather at Todmorden Agricultural Show and were determined to enjoy the event.
“Despite the rain, everyone is having a good time. I’m impressed with what I’ve seen,” he said.
Earlier, he raised a smile when drawing the vice-presidents’ raffle and pulled his own ticket out, returning it to draw out another winner - retiring president Peter Cryer!
The raffle, organised by Ruth Goldthorpe, raised £544, which will be divided between the show and the Mayor’s charity, Age UK Todmorden.
