More than 1,000 people affected by Brighouse power cut
A power cut left more than 1,000 people in Brighouse without electricity this morning.
There were reports of a “flash and a bang” before homes lost power at around 9am.
A spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said around 1,023 people were affected, but it managed to resolve the problem for the majority of people.
Around 19 customers are still without electricity, but it’s thought power should be restored by 11am.
Engineers are still investigating the cause of the cut.
