Le Tour: Spectators grab their seats early in Hebden Bridge

The first spectators for stage two of the Tour de France have been camped out in Hebden Bridge since the early hours, in a bid to get the best seats in the house.

Eric and Alison Hurley, of Cardiff, arrived with camping chairs at 7.00 this morning on Keighley Road.

The couple have been Grand Depart fans for years and went down to Cambridge for the 2007 race.

Mrs Hurley said: “We go on a boat every summer and this year we decided to come to Hebden Bridge because the Tour de France was here.

“We like watching the event and being able to say that we were a part of it.”
