J.K Rowling crime novel up for auction

The third Cormoran Strike novel, Career of Evil, written by the Harry Potter author - under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, will be auctioned for Brighouse and Surrounding Homeless (BASH).

It has been donated by RC Bridgestock’s literary agent David Headley, after the crime writing couple decided to support the charity’s event.

“With only 200 copies being signed this is an exciting piece to add to the auction.The demand for these books is unprecedented,” said David, who is also the owner of Goldsboro Books.

The book will be part of a silent auction held at the launch event which is taking place at Prego on Friday, November 20.

BASH will be taking advanced bids for the book, if anyone is interested in owning the unique item it has a reserve of £1000.

Alison Mitchell, chief Executive of BASH, said: “We provide an outreach service that connects those in need with the charities and services they may not have otherwise known about whilst offering food, clothing and friendly faces.

Thanks to donations we can provide food, drink and clothing. More importantly we can provide a listening ear.

Euan Noble a trustee for BASH said: “The passion it takes to be selfless and to sacrifice endless nights is what makes Alison and her team an inspiration to us all.

“That inspiration has reached Yorkshire crime fighters turned crime writers’ Bob and Carol Bridgestock who write the DI Jack Dylan series.

“They have travelled from their home on the Isle of Wight to support the BASH launch. The couple are also consultants on BBC One’s Happy Valley.”
