It was football crazy for the clubs that attend, as the event attracted teams from all over Calderdale and there was a mixture of ages, from four to 12 years old.

The Hebble Harlequins attacked the goal to win the shield for the over eight category, while the Elland Kids Club raced to victory in the under eight category.

Gail Broadbent, owner of the Hebble Harlequins Out of School Club, said: “The event went great and the sun stayed around for the day. It was nice because all the parents came to the end to see the kids get their awards and every one who partcipated received a medal.

“We would like to thank everyone who joined in and the referees Lucy Jones and Jason Spencer (who co-owns the out of school club).”

The all-day event was deemed a success by parents and children.

Man of the match went to two children in the under 8 and over 8 teams from The Ark Out of School Club and the Big Foot Out of School and Holiday Club.
