Flood-hit RSPCA store to reopen today 11 months on from disaster

A charity shop which has been closed since the Boxing Day floods will reopen today.

The RSPCA store in Bridge Gate, Hebden Bridge, was totally immersed by the floods, which left the floors, walls and electrics damamged and destroyed all the stock and fittings.

Diane Whitehead, area shop manager said, “The shop, which was also flooded in 2012, has undergone extensive repairs, and all efforts have been made to ensure that it is as floodproof as possible, a new stone floor has been laid, the electrical sockets have been placed high on the walls and we have invested in a floor to ceiling floodgate. We are really looking forward to having our presence back in Hebden Bridge and hope everyone in the community will support our new look shop which will have a vintage and retro theme to it.”

The shop will open at 11am.
