Witness appeal after biker killed in crash with BMW in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a biker was killed in a crash with a car in Leeds.

At about 8.35pm on Monday a Suzuki 750cc motorcycle was involved in a collision with a BMW 318 car in Selby Road, at the junction with Carden Avenue, Halton Moor.

The rider, a 38-year-old Leeds man, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The pillion passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with injuries that were serious but not thought to be life-threatening.

The 28-year-old male driver of the car was not injured.

The BMW, which was travelling along Selby Road in the direction of Colton, was turning right into Carden Avenue when the crash happened. The motorbike was travelling along Selby Road towards York Road.
