Police hunt Halifax hit-and-run driver who hospitalised 8-year-old girl

Police are hunting a driver who failed to stop after hitting an eight-year-old girl in Halifax.

The incident, which left the girl with a broken ankle, happened yesterday (Monday) at 7.46pm on Byron Street.

The car involved is reported to be a black hatchback, possibly a Volkswagen Golf.

PC Matthew Judge, of the Western Area Roads Policing Unit, said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed this collision or indeed the driver of the vehicle to call the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference 13/14/236749.”
