Man suffers serious facial injuries after unprovoked assault in Halifax town centre

A man sustained serious facial injuries during an unprovoked attack in Halifax town centre.

The 25-year-old male victim had left the McDonald’s on Old Market at 6.15am on Sunday, September 14, and was assaulted in the street nearby by an unknown suspect around 6.25am.

He sustained serious facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Louise Halliwell, from Calderdale CID, said: “This was a nasty unprovoked assault on the victim.

“Even though this assault took place in the early hours on a Sunday morning, there was a number of people around at the time.

“I want anybody who may have been in the area and who may have any information about the circumstances leading up to the incident, to contact me on 101, or Calderdale CID on 01422 337085.”
