Hearing set for unsafe Casa balcony collapse
Casa Events Limited and Castelite Limited both admitted failing to discharge their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act last November, but a further hearing will have to take place in October for a judge to hear evidence and legal arguments before sentence can be passed.
Five people were injured in February 2013 when the balcony suddenly gave way as a group of women were being shown around a bridal suite at the Casa Hotel on Ellland Road.

The case was listed before Judge David Hatton QC at Bradford Crown Court this morning (Tuesday) and after a discussion between the judge and counsel representing the prosecution and the two firms it was decided that the next hearing, which could last a day, would take place on October 15 in front of Judge Jonathan Rose.
