Council car stolen in Bradford

Police are appealing for information after a Bradford Council-owned car was stolen in Bradford.

At about 7.30am on Tuesday, May 13, an employee had parked a silver Vauxhall Meriva in Great Horton Road, when a man jumped into the vehicle and drove off.

The vehicle, which is used by care staff for visiting elderly service users, is believed to have driven off towards the Buttershaw area.

Service users and their care staff have been notified of the incident.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 30s and of slim to medium build.

He was wearing a light blue hooded top with the hood up and had a light coloured, possibly ginger beard.

Sergeant Sheraz Khan, of the Bradford South Area Neighbourhood Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who might have seen this vehicle shortly after it was stolen, or the suspect prior to or after the crime occurred.

“This incident happened close to the Tesco store in Great Horton Road, and it is possible anyone in the vicinity would have seen what happened, or saw the suspect prior to the theft.”
