Cooking students show of their culinary skills

A pair of Calderdale cooking students are taking part in the national qualifiers of the WorldSkills UK Competitions and hoping to prove they have what it takes to be named the best at 'culinary arts' in the country.

Chloe Harker, from Mytholmroyd, and Lauren Taylor, from Halifax, who are both students at Bradford College, will compete against a host of other cooking students, apprentices and learners for a place in the WorldSkills UK Competition finals.

The WorldSkills UK Competitions involve a series of tests and are designed to enable the UK’s top apprentices and learners to build on their knowledge and showcase their employability skills. The competitions also enable employers to benchmark their apprenticeship and training programmes, raising standards across the UK.
