The town’s Irish community assembled at the Halifax Irish Centre, West Parade, before making their way through the town centre to celebrate all that’s great about the Emerald Isle.

The Mayor of Calderdale, Councillor Lisa Lambert, joined the parade and there was a jovial atmosphere as a band led the procession on its way.

But the day didn’t stop there and following the parade, revellers gathered at the Irish Centre for an afternoon of great ‘craic’.

Students from the Ciara D’arcy Academy of Irish Dance wowed with their performance and Belt of the Celts rocked the club as they played all the favourites.

Here are a selection of pictures from the day.
