A band spokesperson said: “The band are honoured to be playing its part in paying tribute to the great Sir Terry Wogan on Monday night’s The One Show.”

It has also confirmed that the Derek Broadbent, the conductor of the original Floral dance and arranger of the music, will front the performance.

A Facebook group has also been created to call for Terry Wogan’s version to be this year’s official Children in Need song.

The show will air tomorrow at 7pm.
