Calderdale Covid infection rate reaches 423 as council leader continues talks with Government

The Council's Director of Public Health Deborah Harkins said the coronavirus case rate per 100,000 for tests carried out seven days prior to October 22 was 423.
That is a rise from 402 on October 21..
The latest figures come as local authority leaders held more talks with Government ministers and health officials.

Hide AdToday West Yorkshire Leaders discussed the next steps in combatting COVID-19 in the county.
Discussions are ongoing and they have issued the following statement: "This afternoon we met with Government ministers to discuss the worsening COVID-19 infection rate in the region and our proposals to strengthen community engagement, test and trace, and supporting the vulnerable while protecting jobs and livelihoods. Discussions remain ongoing and will continue tomorrow.”
