Tots enjoy learning trip to Brighouse

The trip helped the tots to explore roles in their wider community.

They travelled by bus with nursery staff to Brighouse and then walked through the town centre, visiting shops along the way including a fruit and veg shop, a book shop and a pet shop.

The children looked at signs around the town and talked about road safety, before visiting the Tesco superstore on Bradford Road.

Each child took their own money and a shopping list of two items. They learnt about the value of items, how to pay, receipts and receiving change.

The day was rounded off with a well-earned trip to the cafe, before returning to nursery by taxi.

Michelle Tankard, nursery manager, said: “This was a very valuable trip as the children experienced a great deal of learning opportunities.”
