Rastrick Independent School shut down in August 2019 just six days before the start of the new term.

The school, which had around 70 pupils and charged £10,500-a-year in fees, went into liquidation and the building was put up for sale.

Liquidators have now confirmed a sale has been agreed but the prospective buyer remains unknown.

When the site, which has two buildings, was marketed for sale estate agents Christie & Co said it would be ideal for the education, care or hospitality sectors.

In a statement joint liquidators Claire Dowson and Gareth Rusling, of Begbies Traynor, said they had been working to realise the assets of Rastrick Educational Services Ltd, trading as Rastrick Independent School.

The statement added: “Despite the challenging market conditions post-lockdown, a sale in principle has been agreed for the premises which will maximise the return to the secured creditor.

“No further details of the potential buyer or their proposed use of the building will be available until after the sale has completed.

“The joint liquidators are continuing to liaise with the creditors in relation to their claims and queries, and hope that a sale of the premises will complete by the end of the year.”
