Calderdale College open as usual despite flood
Fire crews from Halifax and Illingworth were called to the incident at the college on Francis Street, Halifax, at 2am this morning ((Monday).
Having been called to reports of a fire alarm going off, when they arrived they found that a 20-metre hot water feed pipe had burst in an upper floor corridor.

Hide AdFirefighters managed to temporarily stop the burst until a plumber could be called, but water had already seeped down through three floors.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire Service said the incident had caused “significant damage”.
Firefighters left the scene at 4.30am.
A Calderdale college spokesperson said the college is open as usual today.
