A total of 525,000 surgical masks, 500,000 disposable aprons, and 10,000 litres of sanitiser have been sourced and delivered to care homes by ECO.

Paul Currie, ECO’s contracts manager, said: “We have worked with UK companies to source a sustainable supply of PPE here in this country, which is available to help people right now.

“We have supplied hundreds of care homes across the country, from individual homes to large groups, and right across the UK from Essex to Perthshire and everywhere in between.

“With the shortage of PPE around the country we wanted to use our expertise to step in and see what we could do to help.”

ECO has helped care homes across Yorkshire including in Leeds, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Keighley, and Hebden Bridge.

Paul said: “The feedback from care homes has been very positive. Procurement teams have thanked us for our swift action, for the quality of the equipment, and for keeping costs down.”

ECO, which is based in Annan, has set up a full COVID-19 emergency rapid response solutions operation and a special medical division with a range of anti-virus sanitiser, PPE including masks and visors, testing kits, testing pods,and medical beds.

The team at ECO, who also have a base in Cumbria, have also already answered the call to help a factory, which has a government order for manufacturing vital material for visors for the NHS, to continue production 24/7 by supplying anti-virus sanitiser and an on-call emergency sanitising team.

ECO will also be launching back-to-work sanitising kits for when the lockdown starts to be lifted.

When organisations are able to reopen ECO has sanitising kits suitable for a range of business needs from a one-person builder to a call centre employing 500 people.
