Since launching in September 2015, 6C Energy founded by energy management firm Orchard Energy in partnership with Calderdale Council, has welcomed 25 Calderdale organisations into the scheme from a range of sectors including manufacturing, textiles and education. Each member is now benefiting from a reduction in energy costs and from pooling their resources together.

To mark the success of the project so far, 6C Energy’s new business executive Dru Widdowson, will be hosting a live Twitter energy surgery on Thursday from 11am to answer any questions organisations in Calderdale might have about their energy management.

The team at 6C Energy are encouraging businesses that are on Twitter and thinking about joining the scheme to send in their questions to @6CEnergy using the hashtag #AskDru. Dru will answer the questions in the live session between 11am-12pm.

6C Energy is the first scheme of its kind in the UK which aims to reduce energy bills and lower consumption by taking high energy costs off the agenda for local businesses.

With the energy spend across all current 6C club members totalling just under £1.5million over the last 12 months, members hope to benefit from significant reductions in their energy bills through 6C Energy’s pioneering and collective approach to energy buying. The scheme has already saved 25 businesses over £300,000.
