John in chair as panto plans made

President Robert Longward paid tribute to Richard’s outstanding service to local theatre.

He described Richard as “the go-to man” for everyone involved with productions.

“He has been very much ‘hands on’ in designing and making stage sets and in addition to chairing meetings and has run the social committee. His race nights and conducted walks around Brighouse have become legendary.”

Richard will continue to be involved in practical ways.

John has been involved with the theatre group for many years – latterly as stage director. He is the owner of Fawcett’s on Commercial Street.

The meeting welcomed two new committee members. They are Jane Pringle and Tom Lambert. Jane also was presented with the Frank Hartley Cup for her services to the group.

John’s first major job is to oversee the annual pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from January 21 -24 at Brighouse Civic Hall.

Shane Gough and Jill Lambert will once again take up the roles of director and musical director.

Looking further ahead to April next year, the quirky but very popular musical ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ has been chosen for the main show.

It will run from April 13 to 16, 2016, again at Brighouse Civic Hall.
