Film maker heads to international festival

Michelle Heighway, who works at Millers Oils in Rastrick, created a film about Yorkshire’s eccentric Jake Mangle Wurzle entitled “Mr.Somebody?”

After screening at the Sheffield Doc Fest and having great feedback from the audience her film will be part of the festival’s biggest ever line-up of feature films produced in Yorkshire.

“Mr. Somebody?” has been selected to screen at the town hall as part of Cinema Versa, which is dedicated to the documentary form and inspired by the underground festival aesthetic, showcasing independent features and profiles of mavericks and outsiders.

“It’s great to be part of that.

“Iit will be great to watch other docs too that are screening as part of the Cinema Versa,” said Michelle.

“It’s a really important inspiring section created by the festival, for the new generation of film makers that have created their passion projects going against the grain of the normal mode of film making/distribution.”
