The film, in Spanish with subtitles, is directed by Damian Szifron and was awarded a BAFTA for best film not in the English language. The characters in ‘Wild Tales’ face inequality, injustice, stress and betrayal - and how they face these problems in their everyday life forms the backbone of the film’s stories.

The Times described the film as ‘a riotously entertaining collection of short stories linked by a common theme.’

‘Wild Tales’ will be shown at Halifax Playhouse on Sunday, March 20 at 7.30pm. Halifax Film Society’s 50th season starts in September. For more information tel: 01422 355990.
