Birthday book inspires script for latest play ...
A birthday present that inspired Actors’ Workshop artistic director Mike Ward to write a script for stage, gets its premiere in the youth theatre’s latest production, which goes out next week (July 14 - 18).
Mike was given Madeline Miller’s novel ‘The Song of Achilles’ which in turn was inspired by Homer’s Iliad, by his son Adam and in his own words “was hooked”.
“To me it was the perfect story for the members of the Workshop where Stage Fighting is a hugely popular element when included in our productions,” he said.

Inherent in the story is the reality that the two leading characters are bi-sexual, an essential component of their make-up which is in no way hidden in the demands of the script. Advance booking from 01422 323688.
