Brighouse Theatre Productions are gearing up for their next show, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, and are looking for cast members to part.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, July 7, at Rastrick Parish Centre, from 1.30pm, and the production team is looking forward to meeting anyone interested in taking part.

The producers are Jayne Davison and Neil Broadbent and the musical director is Mark Breen.

The rock opera ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It began life as an album before first being staged on Broadway in 1971.

The musical is loosely based on the Gospels’ accounts of the last week of the life of Jesus. The well-known musical numbers include ‘I Don’t Know How to Love Him’, ‘Everything’s Alright’ and ‘Superstar’.

Press officer Margaret Hallatt said: “This popular, lively show will be staged in the first week of April 2014. It is anticipated there will be a lot of interest and we want as many people as possible to get involved.

“These are exciting times for Brighouse Theatre Productions. We are delighted to have been granted the licence to perform this musical.”

On Sunday interested members of the cast will be able to meet the producers and run through some of the numbers with musical director Mark Breen.
