Tuneful and talented Hebden Bridge youngsters hit the right note in an annual brass concert.
Hebden Bridge Junior Band blasted out a collection of traditional brass pieces to contemporary film sound tracks from James Bond to Pirates of the Caribbean.
The concert, held at Holme Streets Art Centre, was well attended by proud parents, family and friends who enjoyed a selection of homemade cakes and soups and drank coffee and tea as they listened to the brassy beats of the youngsters.
The concert is an opportunity for both A and B band players, aged 7-18, to play to audiences and a chance to raise funds for the band which has been playing for 42-years. More than £500 was raised towards the cost of running the band and their trips.
This year, the band will travel to Poland to play in a special European Tour.
Hebden Bridge Junior Band press officer, Sue Holmes, said: “The concert was a great success with lots of people through the door. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase what we’re about.
“We introduced new potential members to the band and we really hope they will join us.”
This week, from March 18-21, the band will perform in a special show, packed with dance, song and dance, with Hebden Bridge Light Opera Society at the town’s Little Theatre, Holme Street. Call 01422 250181 for tickets.
