The competition has been running for over four years providing a platform for the very best young brass talent and kicks off in just seven weeks time.

Grand Central, who are sponsoring it for the second year and founder, Alex Bray celebrated the launch with a special performance to persuade commuters to buy tickets and enjoy their daily journey.

Gwen Smith, of Wardle Academy band said: “We are really excited about being involved with this year’s Brass Factor and the great experiences that this is creating for our young musicians.

“Being involved with this event will be brilliant, to perform and watch musicians with much more experience is even more fantastic. I’m delighted that such a young band can go along to the Brass Factor and gain valuable experience. We are looking forward to playing an entertaining programme.”
