Brighouse and Rastrick Band held a youth workshop for young brass players at their Finkil Street headquarters. The event attracted 24 young players between the ages of nine and 18.

The five and a half hour event included an extensive amount of tuition provided by B&R’s world-class principal players in addition to full band sessions conducted by Dean Redfern, conductor of the Brighouse and Rastrick Youth band.

Stuart Lingard, Principal Cornet and Band Manager said: “Everyone had a great time including the young players, the tutors and the parents. The B&R principal players provided master classes for the different instrumental groups and the full ensemble came together twice during the day to practice four pieces which were new to all of the players prior to performing them brilliantly at the concert put on for their parents and family at the end of the day.”
