It took more than a few showers to dampen the fund raising spirits at the Richard Oastler, Brighouse.
Despite the rain, it did not stop the members of staff in their fancy dress outfits collect money for Clic Sargent.
The entertainment for the day had to be brought inside the pub on Bethel Street and pub manager Amanda McKenzie said the event was well supported.
“We had to move all the stalls inside including the face painting, hook-a-duck, the hot dog and the real ale stands. We had local breweries donate T-shirts, gifts and real ales for the raffle.
“Clic Sargent is the company’s charity and we raise funds for other charities such as the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Overgate Hospice.
“If it had been nicer weather we might have raised more but we still managed to collect over £200.
“We would just like to say a big thank you to all the customers and families who attended .”
Clic Sargent, formed in 2005 after a successful merger between Clic and Sargent Cancer Care for Children, is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people, and their families.
They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
