A touch of West End glamour will come to Brighouse on Saturday night, March 7, with “Songs from the Musicals” at the Civic Hall.
Featuring songs from more than 12 of the most favourite West End hit shows, it is bound to be a big hit with musical theatre lovers.
Directed by Natasha Harper, known to many from her performances at the Brighouse 1940s weekends, it features a cast of more than 20, including children from the local Harper School of Music and Theatre, in a staged performance.
Songs from Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, the Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, Chicago, Sweeney Todd and the Rocky Horror Show are just some of the delights on offer.
This is the second musical event organised by the Brighouse Business initiative. Last year saw a sell-out show featuring the James Shepherd Versatile Brass and Rachel Harrison - watch out for details of another similar concert in April.
John Buxton, who organises the events along with Steven Lord, said: “It’s all about bringing good quality evening entertainment back to Brighouse. We do this on a not-for-profit basis to help the wonderful community that has built up in the town over the last three years on the back of the BBI events.
“Having seen the dress rehearsal, I can assure you it will be a great night.”
Tickets priced £11 (£9 for concessions) are available from Harrison Lord, Simply Flowers and Ryecorn Wholefoods. Call 01484 711835 for more details.
