Dance teacher Lisa McCann is set to bring Strictly fever to Brighouse.

Lisa, founder of Limelight Theatre School in Rastrick, will be putting an extra spring into the step of exercise-lovers with new classes at Brighouse High School which start this month. Lisa has qualifed as an instructor of FitSteps, the latest dance fitness phenomenon which combines the grace and tempo of ballroom and Latin dance with a fitness programme.

FitSteps was devised by Strictly Come Dancing professionals Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite with swimmer Mark Foster.

Lisa said: “Strictly is back on the TV and now is the perfect time to tackle a dance-based exercise programme that is so much fun it doesn’t even feel like getting fit.

“I have been training with Ian and Natalie and now I can’t wait to bring the new dance craze back to my old school.

“It’s so much fun and is really effective. You don’t need to have a partner or to be a great dancer to give it a go.”

FitSteps classes will start on September 24 and will run every Tuesday at 7pm in Brighouse High School’s Sports Centre. They will follow on from Lisa’s Zumba class so participants who are feeling particularly energetic will be able to ‘do the double’.

Classes cost £4.50 and participants can pay as they go - ther’s no need to sign up for a term.
