IT looks like another busy weekend at Woodhead with what is probably Old Brodleians’s biggest game of the season in prospect on Saturday when they face local rivals Heath RFC (2.15pm).

Prior to that the 2ndXV will be playing their opposite numbers from Heath at Woodhead to make a double header for fans with a 12.30pm

Recent games between the two clubs have been close-fought affairs irrespective of league positions. At present, Heath are currently sixth on 30 points, while Brods are four points behind in eighth.

Last season, victories went to the respective home sides with Brods successful at Woodhead 33-18, and Heath prevailing at West Vale 14-3.

With a lengthy injury list, Brods are coping due to their strength in depth and another young debutant, Harley Morris, last week staked his claim for a start with a gutsy performance in the second-row.

The hosts could be strengthened by the return of Callum Thompson and Matt Raven to the squad.

The Beavers will travel to Ossett to play their second team having not had a fixture last weekend .

On Sunday, the Under 16s will be at home to Sheffield (11.00am) and The Junior Colts (U17) will also be at home to Harrogate (11.00am). The Senior Colts will travel to Hull Ionians in the 3rd round of the National Cup, whilst at 1.00pm the Senior Girls (Brodettes U18 side ) will be playing at Woodhead in the Yorkshire Cup.
