Rastrick somehow managed to sneak through to the Huddersfield League T20 Shield semi-finals, despite being second-best for most of their match at Kirkheaton.
Rastrick got an awful start as Mitch McCoach was run out cheaply and was quickly followed back to the pavilion by Jacob Waterson.
Faisal Javed fell shortly afterwards and it took a patient innings from veteran Matthew Lambert to get the innings back on track. There were useful cameos from Bradley Birkhead and Joe Vickers as Rastrick limped to 115 all out.
Kirkheaton were cruising in their reply until Olly Pearson introduced part-time off-spinner Waterson. The reward was two wickets and a run out, to leave Kirkheaton on 44-3 after six overs.
Come the last over eighty runs were required, but captain Pearson allowed just one.
n Rastrick Under-15s put impressed during their defeat to league leaders Barkisland.
After losing opener Sean Edley, Ryan Cook (9) and Nathan Shaw (30) then took few risks before Amir Khan added a breezy 20 to see his side to 85-5.
Eddie Uttley and Khan too early wickets to leave Barkisland on 44-5, but Finch (27 no) and Horner (23 no) batted sensibly to reach the target.
