The weather forecast didn’t phase the Crow Nest Park Golf Club Ladies in the slightest on Sunday.
Following a brilliant Captain’s Day and barn dancing event that lasted late into the night, 13 ladies turned out to play in the rain for the Tartan Trophy on Sunday, the penultimate Major of the ladies’ golfing year.
Thankfully the wind dropped and the rain came bucketing straight down so umbrellas were the certainly the order of the day.
This helped add even more colour to the golf course, which is currently in excellent condition and all the ladies involved played in great spirits throughout.
Former Lady Captain Mandy Widdop proved she still has what it takes when she won the trophy for the second year running with a nett score of 67, reducing her handicap to 25.
Coming home in second place was Elaine Mackie with a nett score of 69.
Third place went to Jackie Turner who posted a nett score of 70.
Carole Hampson won the Lowest gross shield with a score of 89.
