Spenborough Swimming Club celebrated their 125th Anniversary this past weekend with a swimming competition held at the John Charles Centre in south Leeds.
Swimmers from Brighouse Swimming Club supported the club in competing at what turned out to be a fantastic event.
Eleven swimmers participated, with all of them exdcelling in gaining medals, speeding tickets and personal best times improving.
Ten-year-olds Megan Walch, Ruby Harris, Laura Whittington and Ben Calligan all did very well in their age groups with placings in the both B and C Grade as well as impressive improvements in posting new personal best times.
Ellis Kaye and team-mates Martha Garnett and Aliya Bacakoglu, both aged 11, secured medals and personal bests between them in both B and C grade.
Emma Sykes (12) took home a Gold in C Grade and a Silver in B grade along with a 4th and 5th place medal.
Jack Mountain, also 12-years-old, gained three new personal best times, which awarded him two Speeding Tickets and a fourth-place medal.
Finally, in the boys 13-year-old age group, Cameron Price and Dylan Walch impressed when they also brought home Speeding Tickets and medals.
It was a fantastic achievement this weekend from all the swimmers at Brighouse Swimming Club under the watchful eye of coach Brian Smart.
There are two more competitions left for 2015 – November 29 at Beverley, and December 12 and 13 at Manchester. The BSC presentation night is Saturday, December 5 at Rastrick Bowling and Social Club.
